What is your question?
Hi, I've noticed this question asked before, but none of the answers have really answered my question. We are trying to replace the exterior passenger side door handle. We have taken off the door panel and removed the 2 bolts holding the handle on but cannot despite wiggling, jiggling and a whole lot of effort get this "plastic clip" holding the metal bar to come off. So could someone please describe a exactly how to get the metal bar unattached from the door handle. Ours will not simply slide off. Thankyou in advance! Nick

The clips you are talking about shouldn't and generally don't just fall off. They are made to stay in place, by clipping back onto the rod it is connecting to. You will need a small screwdriver or pry tool to push the clip off the rod then you can remove the handle rod. I have found it easier to do this type job by removing the screws that hold the latch in the door and move it to the side for better access to the handle rod. Hope this helps, don't get to mad, this job makes seasoned mechanics swear.
Thanks for your answer. So we have unclipped the little latch like plastic clip that swings up and down. should the bar just pull out of place now?
yes, it should pull out of place after the clip is removed. handle usually still takes some wiggling to remove from the hole in the door.
