It is not necessary to remove the engine for clutch replacement. However, it is necessary to remove the transmission. This is a major operation for a do-it-yourself project. The best and safest way to make this repair is on a shop lift. I hope this helps! Thanks, Ron (AutoPros-Buford GA)
If you absolutely must replace the clutch yourself for financial reasons and feel you have the ability and tools to complete the job, you must have the correct repair procedures. There is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You get a one year subscription to year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual http://www.alldatadiy.com/ Good luck, this is a big job to tackle at home and will be frustrating if you have not undertaken a job like this before. Again proper tools and safety precautions are important.
