Anything is possible when it comes to transmissions. First, you need to check the fluid level and condition. How long has it been since a fluid service has been done? If the fluid is low or in poor condition, it can cause the complaint you are experiencing. Is that the only problem, realistically if the transmission is already making noise, not shifting correctly and now does not move; you may have damaged internal components.
