check engine light came on yesterday. Car seems to be running warmer than usual. Don't see any circulation going on inside the radiator

It's under the timing cover, driven by the timing belt - therefore you need to remove the timing belt, and everything else in the front of it, engine mount, drive belt, timing covers, etc.. It's not a simple DIY job. I strongly suggest to get a good repair manual, read and understand every point of it before you start the job.
