What is your question?
I changed the air filter but it still smells like vinegar, when I start the car that’s the first thing I noticed. I saw it was a common thing to occur to Toyota Camrys. I installed a new air filter but the smell came back for 10 seconds and went away, i’m not sure if it’s a mold problem?
What makes this problem better or worse?
it’s on and off but it smells when I start the car, when I switch to hot and cold it also smells.
How long has your 2022 Toyota Camry had this problem?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. The unusual smell in your Camry is likely due to mold or bacteria buildup in the HVAC system, especially in the evaporator coil, where moisture can accumulate. Replacing the air filter is a great first step, but if the odor persists, you could try an AC cleaner spray or foam to disinfect the system. If the smell continues, a professional cleaning may be needed. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
