What is your question?
When the car is in Park, the odometer is bright and easily readable, However, as soon as I put the car in Drive, the odometer turns dark and is unreadable. Any ideas of why this is?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. This sounds like a situation where the dash light "dimmer" is kicking in, due to headlights turning on or some other light based adjustment to the display. Maybe turn the headlights off and recheck? If it's on automatic setting, off is a good starting point.
