CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, 0500 SPEED SENSOR.SPEEDOMETER GOES OFF AND ON, CRUISE CONTROL DOESNT WORK. BOUGHT A SPEED SENSOR AND REPLACED ONE AND IT DIDNT WORK INFACT CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. TOOK IT OUT AND WENT BACK TO SAME AS BEFORE. BUT FOUND ANOTHER SENSOR ON TRANSMISSION. SO HOW MANY ARE THERE/ WHAT IS THE CORRECT PART NUMBER AND WHERE DOES IT GOE IN THE VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 5 MONTHS. MY VIN IS 4T1BF32KX6U625543

Hello, I've seen on Toyotas that the driven gear in the transmission may be failing -- not the sensor. Circuit testing is needed to find out what is happening. Hands on testing by someone with skill and know-how, along with shop manuals and wiring diagrams and diagnostic tools as well as a voltmeter / ohmmeter is needed. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
