What is your question?
Several weeks ago my check engine light on my car which only hs 93,000 miles came on for the first time in all of these years. Took it to my normal repair shop they said the code was showing something with the transmission and I should bring it to a transmission shop. The car has been running fine and no shifting problems. I took the car to a trans shop and the code indicated a solonoid problem. I made arrangements to bring the car in for this in 10 days since I needed to make arrangements. He was not sure how long he would need the car. Two days later the check engine light has gone out and it has been almost a week now and the light has not turned on again and the car seems to run just as normal as it always had. Should I wait awhile and see if the light returns or just have the solonoid replaced now ? Could something else have caused the code to appear and falsely indicated it was the solonoid ? Thanks

Hello, I would recommend letting it go for now and then addressing further should the problem reoccur. It could be evidence of an intermittent problem, not a hard fault failure since the light has now cycled off. I would also suggest that you don't know that your 16 year old 90,000+ mile vehicle simply needs a "solenoid" - it could be that the related circuit shows a failure and it'lll take some troubleshooting testing to pin point the source of the problem.
