What is your question?
No other indications at all, red oil light flashes briefly at end of braking and only sometimes. I happened to see this brief flash at stop and pulled over immediately. Oil level extremely low and leak apparent at horizontal seam outside valve cover gasket... Why oil pressure warning light didn't come on and stay on... valve cover gasket replaced more than once....

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. When the oil light flashes while braking, it often means the oil level is low, causing a temporary drop in oil pressure as the oil shifts to one side of the engine. Since your oil level is extremely low and you have a visible leak, the oil pressure was likely dropping too quickly to trigger a steady light. The valve cover gasket leak could be significant and might have caused enough oil loss for this issue, but I would also thoroughly inspect the car for other oil leaks and oil consumption. In the meantime, be sure to keep the oil level full to prevent further damage.
