dealer says leaking heater core. However, there is no smell, looks water to me, no color. Defogger works fine. Passenger front side not wet. Is the diagnosis correct. Also, quote was 1200. RepairPal estimate says 400. Is it correct?

Zee's advice is correct! Check the heater box drain first. Heater core replacement on this car does not require evacuating the refrigerant or major disassemble. Its about a 2.5 hours labor to replace heater core plus parts if that is wrong.
Rookie Turn air-conditioner on high, turn off recycled air switch. Believe it or not, all you have to do is buy a can of Lysol and spray it in the vents under the hood in front of the windshield. Let your car run for a few minutes upon using the whole entire can. It will eventually clean out the coil and stop leaking. It may take a few days for all the leaking to stop. A friend of mine owns a Toyota Corolla and she was told to do that and it really works. Toyota wanted to charge her $800.00 to fix it and it only cost her $ 5.00 for the can of Lysol. IT WILL WORK ! ! !
