2001 Camry LE with the 2.2l engine temp gauge is reading almost max on dash but one scan tool is reading 190-207 degrees and the fans are cycling correctly. I’ve replaced a lot. Radiator (done 5 years ago) Coolant (done 3 times peak oe red) Thermostat(autozone failsafe 7214-180) Coolant temp fan switch(standard motor products TS329T) *might be bad fans are staying on now and still temp goes up Radiator cap(genuine 16401-72090) One wire temp sensor(a-premium from Amazon) Fans both function on high and low speed. All relays and fuses are good. Things I haven’t changed: Main Temp sensor Water pump Head gasket I’m about at my wits end trying to figure this out.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Purchased the car from a family friend and it has been doing it for a while beforehand.

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. So - wait - can you confirm what the real temperature of your coolant is? You are saying it's measuring at 190-207 degrees, which is not overheating. It sounds like if you can verify that's valid for your coolant and at the same time the gauge is very high - it could be a gauge sending unit or a gauge issue. You're on the right track with your testing efforts, but what if it's cooling just right and giving you alarming infomation?
