oil leak after replacing timing belt, water pump & valve cover gasket

What is your question?

Last week I had the timing belt, water pump & valve cover gasket of my 2000 Toyota Camry replaced by a Toyota dealer. I see some oil drip from the engine on my driveway. What is the most likely cause?

they probably did not tighted something u need to find out where is it coming from and go back to them

I took the car to two mechanics: one, at a nearby repair shop I have used before; the other, an outlet of a reputable national chain. Both reported the oil leak is from behind the timing belt cover. But, the Toyota dealership is refusing to fix the leak without me paying for the timing belt labor again. Can anyone advise me what should I do next?

Same thing happened to me and they said not our problem, we replaced the timing belt and water pump, if something else happened it was just coincidence....I said F you... my car was fine until then now it rattles and engine sounds horrible and still wanna charge me to lok at it. I am screwed over again by A$$hole mechanics that get away with murdering your car on you. My actual next step is a lawyer.

This is happening to me now as we speak. Yesterday I had a mechanic change my timing belt and waterpump. So now oil sprays out from the timing belt cover and the mechanic is saying it is not his problem. I told him polite so far to screw himself but might have to go ape S!@# on him. My car is rattling and is looking pretty horrible right now. So I'll have to wait and see if he repairs it.

I'm having the same thing done to my car today because of an oil leak. They said that they have to replace the timing belt and water pump because they work hand in hand. I don't know what to think but it's very costly.

We had the Timing belt changed on our 2000 Avalon. 100,000 km. Drove about 250 km - noticed oil all over the road - checked dip stick - 'no oil' left Obviously it has something to do with the timing belt work. Will take it back to repairer after Public Holidays - but assume they will say - 'not our problem just a coincidence'...!!!! Any suggestions..???

there is an oil seal on the oil pump which rubs a groove in the oil pump pulley shaft. need to change oil pump and cam seals when repairing timing belt/ water pump

This is not an answer, it is a problem I've had for years: several attempts to correct oil leak in my Toyota Camry '95, 2.2; seal and gaskets have been replaced in the crankshaft area; the leak persists; could it be in the oil pump-timing belt area? Please help. Th.
