There can be a number of reasons why this happens. 1) Check that the trans fluid level is correct 2) Look at the color of the fluid is it ruby red? If it's brown and burnt smelling try having a trans flush done at the dealer to clean the entire system or DIY replace the filter and fluid by dropping the pan "Not just the drain plug and fill" 3) if nothing works above its rebuild time
