What is your question?
At first it would just come on when I started my car up and turn off after about a mile. However now it comes on and will stay on for 20 minutes, every now and they it will just go on and off at random times throughout the trip. It's really driving me crazy. What can I check for myself or should I just take it in?

Are you sure it is the hand brake that is giving a problem.? Do the brakes appear to drag or do you smell or see the rear wheels get hot. it could be a bad switch at the center console, or the brake fluid level may be low in the fluid reservoir in the engine compartment. If the fluid level is low the brake pads may be naturally worn down or you may have a leak. If the battery light and hand brake light come on at the same time or flash while driving the alternator may be going bad.
my daughter's 1999 camry has the same problem--set parking brake with handle and then light stays on when handle is released and returned to down position. vibration of driving must jiggle switch and the light goes off. my solution: i will disconnect switch and give daughter a checklist--KISS principle
this doesnt work i had the same problem in my 1999 camry and simply disconnection the switch will not work i just eventually got frustrated and pulled the bulb out
im certain its the hand break. I will set it, wait a second and the disengage and it goes away. Then when I start driving again it comes back on. I'll check the levels though.
