Having problems aligning crank and cam marks while replacing timing belt

What is your question?

I can get the timing marks with 5 degrees +\-, but cannot get it on the dot. Which is better, 5 degree advanced or 5 retarded?

Neither,they need to be at tdc..here is what to do,,,set the cam very slightly retarded,then when you tighten the belt,the cam will rotate to the tdc mark!,

Neither,they need to be at tdc..here is what to do,,,set the cam very slightly retarded,then when you tighten the belt,the cam will rotate to the tdc mark!,
