What is your question?
Got in my 98 v6 camry xle a week ago suddenly i noticed the check engine light on, It drove normally. I drove it to work and also noticed the RPM gauge wasn't moving at all, check engine light stayed on, and the security light would blink when I accelerated, but would stay on when I came to a stop.I have changed the VSS to a new OEM one, and my mechanic has tested the wires going to the VSS to the speedometer. I also have bought a tested used speedometer cluster from ebay matching my camrys year and model (v6 xle) and still no odometer reading. The engine code was a P0500 code (VSS).Car drives fine, since the first time I got it, I have disconnected the battery and reconnected, the check engine light has not returned but odometer stays not working, and security light burnt out on my original cluster (I swapped the ebay cluster back out to my original one). Last week, for 1 DAY, the odometer started working again, but it promptly stopped working the next day like usual again.
How long has your 1998 Toyota Camry had this problem?
More than a week
