I've dealt with this issue on my 98 Camry for several months. Under the hood, on the driver side is a fuse box. There is a 7.5A fuse for "Dome". I used a 10A spare and it not only fixed my dome lights, but my door locks now work correctly too. I never set the clock anymore, but I will see if it keeps the correct time after I turn the car off and on. I realize this is a 4+ year old question, so I am just answering for the benefit of the public.
NEVER use a higher rated amp fuse than what actually goes there which is a 7.5 amp fuse because if there is a problem, then the 10 amp fuse WILL NOT do it's job and blow/pop the fuse! It could very well burn/melt the insulation/wire and may catch the car on fire, yes 12 volts DC Voltage! Think of it like you have a 30 AMP Double Pole Breaker in your home that trips, you reset it and it trips again, then you have a spare 60 AMP Double Pole Breaker just laying around, you put the 60 where the 30 was,now it's not tripping the breaker because it's burning the 10 gauge wire up and will burn your house down, maybe because it's pulling say 50 amps and the breaker is rated for 60 amps, and that 10 gauge wire is rated for 30 amps,so the breaker won't trip now?
