The cost of a "new" Toyota alternator is quite expensive, even the dealer fit remanufactured alternators overhauled by Toyota. Most shops would replace a defective alternator with a rebuilt unit (quality between rebuilders differ). In the last two years there are inexpensive Chinese brand new alternators available.

You know AUTOTECPAT, I didn't ever think I would say this but the Chinese brand quality is getting better every day.
