What is your question?
We've been told we need the following: Transmission Flush, 3 Part Fuel Service, Brake Flush, Replace Water Pump, Replace Timing Belt and a new Left CV Complete Assembly. All of this will cost about $1,500 total per the estimate. What do we need to do right away and what can wait a few months until we come up with the cash?

There is a shop near you, Indian Trail Imports at 1115 Indian Trail-Waxhaw Rd, right behind the storage center. Go there and ask them to double check and prioritize the services. Take the estimate with you and see if they can give you some discount on the services. They are very honest. Tell Rod Zee sent you. Zee
This didn't really answer the question. The shop we got the estimate from is really honest too. All the prices are in line (and some cheaper) than the estimates on this site. Need advice on prioritization prior to going to another shop. If someone can answer this it would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
It won't be easy to prioritize without a first hand inspection and knowing the conditions, and that's the key thing. We need to see what's going on. If a shop has average or low prices it doesn't mean they don't try to sell you unnecessary parts or services. If your shop is honest, they should tell you which repair is high priority and which isn't. I never throw an estimate to a client and tell him/her: "here is what you need, cost this much and come back when you have the money." I always explain what and why does it need in which order. How dirty the fluids are, is there a shifting problem? Why would it need a 3 step fuel service, is there a performance issue? Is the water pump leaking, or they just wants to replace it with the timing belt ? What's with the CV axle? Is it falling apart, making noise when turning or just swings out grease? This 2.2 engine is FREEWHEELING, which means if your timing belt breaks no piston-to-valve damage occurs, you will get hit with a towing fee, but not with a $$$$ cylinder head or engine block job, so if the CV axle falling a part, or there is a shift quality issue, perhaps a leaking water pump, than go for those repairs, but a second opinion never hurts (in my opinion). Thanks that helped.
