You know the battery is fine based on what? You may have a parasitic draw causing the battery to discharge. That's based on that the battery is properly tested good.
Check the battery voltage make sure it is 12.6 volts.Try jump starting off another car if it still won't start, the contacts in the starter solenoid failed.
Hey Patrick I've seen you post a lot up here so can you tell me how I would and where I would check this solution? I could use the internet I know but I'm not a car guy at the moment so if you could kinda laymen's term this for that would be much appreciated thanks and I hope this repair is a DIY not so costly fix.
You can have 12.6 volts and the battery still may not pass a proper test of a battery.
go to an advanced auto parts sore, they do free battery test. IT WILL NOT COST YOU A THING!!!
yea I thought about that I tried switching batteries with my other car and it still didn't work so I'm thinking it may be what Patrick said
iin all this talk of the battery did anyone think of the starter if you have power but nothing on starting that may be it. some times you can tap it with a hamer and knock the barings loose and it could start ive had to do this with my impala. it started and i took it srait to the shop.
You can have a good battery and have a connection issue causing the same concern. Make sure they are good.
ok I just bought a starter and ill be attempting to install it today!
Thanks parts guy I don't think it's the battery because all the lights work and the horn works. Also I tried charging it from another car and it still wouldn't start. I've tried jumping it for like 30 minutes I don't see how in just 2 days anything could happen. I drove it home fine then when I tried to take it for a spin nothing it didn't even make a clicking sound as an attempt to try to start up....
Just because the lights and horn works doesn't mean the battery is good. That is not the way to test a battery.
Well parts guy I really hope u r right about it being the battery hope would I do a PROPER battery check? Ur theory seems possible seeing how it worked fine when I got it it just hasn't been driven for a while so again how should I go about a proper battery check?
