car quit running while driving and wont restart. tries to turn over but wont catch.

was driving when the engine shut off. looking for some troubleshooting help/ all lights remained on and working. tries to tun over but cant seem to catch also has an odd sound when doing this. gave no warning no check engine light before it did this
