Hello, when your vehicle goes into "closed loop", or warmed up, it starts utilizing data collected from on board sensors to adjust fuel and air mixtures. Something is malfunctioning -- causing the running concern as well as the check engine light to come on. Only testing can determine what is happening. Could be a mass air flow sensor, air intake leak, or many other concerns. Seek the guidance of someone with experience testing similar OBD I equipped vehicles.
