What is your question?
Today I went to start my car and it started but it was sputtering real bad, I have to mash the gas to get it idling properly, a bunch of smoke comes out the exuast pipe when I'm mashing the gas. Then it will idle properly. Is that my fuel pump or maybe an temperature sensor?

It sounds like your engine for some reason had "flooded out" and received too much gasoline. Your engine has a cold start injector that provides extra fuel when starting under cold conditions. If for some reason you continued to crank the engine and it didn't start by pressing the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor until the engine catches and then releasing the pedal allows the engine to start because you have allowed extra air into the engine. Without seeing the car first hand it is foolish for me to speculate if the ignition is failing (cold start requires the most from the ignition), or whether for some reason you are getting too much fuel on initial start up.
