multifunction displ failed after being parked outside 8 days. Next day ok why?

MFD was replaced in 2014, stopped working on a cold day. This time car was parked outside in cold weather. Parked it in the garage & next day it asked for the location disk, it found it and loaded. MFD went through a loading and the MFD operated ok. Does Toyota acknowledge the issue?
