Hello, it could be that the lock rod has detached from the door lock cylinder. If someone has tried to use a "slim jim" in the door, for example, it's possible it could have become dislodged. The electrical connector is likely still attached to the cylinder, which is why the lights go on and you hear a click. Have a shop near you pull the door panel and have a look.
