my mpg dropped from 30+ to 22mpg

Need more info. Does the engine run smoothly? Is the transmission shifting through all gears? Do you feel or notice the torque converter go into "lockup" mode? Any check lights on dash? ( Suggest an OBD scan for codes, whether check engine light is on or not.)
