Intermittent wipers not working 2004 toyota avalon

My wipers blew a fuse when i used my blinker. After looking for problem the toyota mechanic said the motor was hot but could not duplicate the blown fuse. Everything worked fine for 2 weeks then the intermittent portion did not work, it wiped 2, 4, 5 times then paused- just randomly. I replaced the arm switch and now the intermittent run at low speed with no pause at all, so first position is low, second position is low, third position is high. Is there a relay switch somewhere other than the arm-switch on the steering column? Thanks
