What is your question?
I have check timing marks: 1) Crank at TDC - Bank 1 and Bank 2 cams show "1" dot's aligned on exhaust and intake 2) Bank 1 and Bank 2 Cam pulley algined on marks I have photos of all poisitions. 3) Fuel and spark have been verified 4) Verified Cam sesnor wiring is correct 5) no DTC showing 6) vehicle turns over with starter and you will hear some pre-ignition in intake, which makes me believe timing is incorrect 7) Cams for bank 1 and bank 2 have been verified with lobe position for a firing order of 1,2,3,4,5,6

Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your Toyota Avalon. Based on the information provided it does sound like the timing marks are most likely aligned correctly. After looking over some information for this model, I show that there should be a timing reference mark on the timing belt itself that should align with the reference mark (the dot) on the crankshaft timing gear. The camshaft marks (dots) should be pointing pretty much straight up with the reference marks aligned on the belt. Make sure the only slack in the belt is on the belt tensioner side as well as any slack on the non tensioner side can create a skip in the belt when cranking over the engine. I recommend double checking these marks to make sure everything is aligned properly. If the engine still will not start and kind of pops or backfires in the intake it is a good idea to have the engine checked over further to make sure no valves were bent or any other type of damage has occurred. In some cases it may be best to have it checked over by a reputable repair facility to help pinpoint the concern so it can then be repaired properly from there.
