What is your question?
My 2001 Toyota Avalon is overheating. Fans only work when heater or a/c is on. When it gets hot it fills the overflow tank all the way up and it seems like there is no ligquid in the top radiator hose. I replaced the thermostat and there was a blue shop towel stuck in it. Still overheats.
How long has your 2001 Toyota Avalon had this problem?
A month but getting worse

Hello, there was a blue shop towel stuck in it?! How on earth did that happen? I'd start by flushing the cooling system to ensure you have proper flow at this time. Then, purge the air out of the cooling system. Then, recheck operation and see from there. If your fans are not turning on when engine temperature dictates they should turn on - that's also a place to focus diagnostic attention. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
