How to remove the vss under the battery,on top of the transaxle ,that's under the throttal cable

I can't seem to get the whole thing out the boss and driven gear all together it's coming out just the top and I see there are wires still lodged in the transaxle.How do I get it all to come out as one unit or am I taking out the wrong speed sensor?
