I had this EXACT problem with my 98 Avalon. Here was the problem, bad connection on Alternator. Check and clean connection. Remove cable connection, clean with wire brush, then retighten cable connection. Spray a little electrical connection sealant and this will be gone. Also, check and clean battery connection just for the fun of it!
