What is your question?
Have an intermittent gasoline odor smell entering the passenger compartment of my 1996 Toyota Avalon. It is noticeable in the engine compartment and seems to enter the interior through the vents. Have had the car checked and no gas leaks have been found and the charcoal canister , vacuum valve have been replaced recently. Check Engine Light is turned off . Still have the problem. Any suggestions?

Check for fuel leaks - which might be extremely small at the fuel injector rail.
I have a 2000 Avalon and have exhibited this problem on a few occasions as well. It always seemed to occur on a wet day on a road with many hills. I have not found the cause.
This has to be checked out with a smoke machine to see where the leak is. It has to have a leak of vapor somewhere since you're still getting the fumes in the car.
I was able to locate a leak at the fuel inector damper 23207-20010 on my 2000 toyata Avalon. I had the engine idling and I used a bright flashligt to find the leak. Removing the top decorative cover helped also.
The Mechanic has already checked for Fuel leaks and found none. The gas smell is intermittent and is not always there.
Is the fuel smell more prominent when the gas tank is completely full or the fuel level is irrelevant ?
