What is your question?
My 4runner (auto transmission) has been slowly declining this past week. I first noticed it wasn't accelerating properly-I called my mechanic and they didn't have a good idea of what could be wrong. Then it was definitely not accelerating properly so I thought maybe I should just push on the pedal harder-bad idea-it shifted really hard but still didn't gain speed, I smelled sulfur momentarily and then it passed. I drove to work semi-okay. Side note, the 'check engine' light has not gone on during all of this. Today I barely made it home from work, acceleration is very poor, it is not shifting properly but it sounds fine! And the check engine light is still not on. I'm bringing it into my mechanic on Tuesday but after today I'm not even sure I'll make it those 3 miles. The sulfur smell would indicate the catalytic converter, correct? But I only smelled it briefly. Also, the fact that the check engine light isn't on is driving me crazy because there is definitely something wrong.
How long has your 2007 Toyota 4Runner had this problem?

I'd say you're on to something with the catalytic converter. No sense in guessing since you're bringing it in. My only advice is to call for a tow. You may being doing more damage driving it. Alex
