What is your question?
The noise started out as a clicking sound and now it is more like a roaring/vibrating sound.

Hello, CarTac. It sounds like you have a problem with the actuator door(s) for the vent. There doors inside the main duct that open and close to send air in different directions depending on what you set it to, vent, floor, defrost... there may be an issue with the doors, the actuators, or even just something stuck in there.
Thanks! Do you know how to access the doors?
Here is a clip of what I think you have going on. There are at least two actuator/door assemblies. There will be one on the driver and passenger side under the dashboard. To locate them without being there, I would recommend causing the noise to happen and getting in the floorboards to locate the noise. Just so you know, there is never an easy or fun job under the dashboard, and the repair could necessitate removal of several small or large items which may be controlled by vacuum pressure or electronics. https://youtu.be/6RjzF22MGIo If you prefer to take it to a certified trusted mechanic in your area, the link below will show you several. https://repairpal.com/toyota-repair-in-lonoke-arkansas-72086 Feel free to respond if you have any further questions.
