Key will not open my back hatch/door

What is your question?

I have a 05 4runner sr5 v6. Several days ago i put the key in the back hatch/door and turned the key to open. Did not hear any thing and it would not open it at all. It works when i have the key in the ignition and it is on in the on position. First time this has happened since i have owned it.
