do you need to replace timing belt @ 90 k as recommended or should I wait a bit?

The main problem with putting off a timing belt is that if it snaps, and they do, then you will do extensive damage to your engine, possibly even ruin it. It is wise to just do the belt, if you want to keep the truck.
