What is your question?
What is the cause of my 2001 Toyota forerunner to lose power the vac trac light and check engine light is on. And I will have to put the gas pedal to the floor to get it to move
What makes this problem better or worse?
If I put the pedal to the metal it will go and then it clears up and light goes out
How long has your 2001 Toyota 4Runner had this problem?
It’s happened to me a couple times the vac light and check engine light is on then it disappeared and a few days later it came back on

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. Your 2001 Toyota 4Runner losing power and requiring you to floor the gas pedal could be related to a few potential issues. The fact that the VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) and check engine lights are on suggests that the vehicle's onboard diagnostics are detecting a problem. Possible causes could include a malfunctioning sensor, a fuel delivery issue, or an air intake issue. If the lights clear up after driving, that doesn't necessarily mean the problem is resolved; it may return. I recommend having the trouble codes read with an OBD-II scanner, which will give you more specific information about what's triggering those lights. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
