My 2000 Toyota 4 Runner suddenly started idling rough. My mechanic performed diagnostics and says one of the heads is sticking, and he said this is a common problem with 4 Runners. Repair costs are about $3,500. Is he right about the problem and is the cost estimate about right?

Hello, considering that a cylinder head replacement is about 14 hours of labor and you're in California in the Bay area (where I am also), that alone is probably nearly $2,000 worth alone. Then you have a head -- and I wouldn't be surprised about your estimate. That said -- get a second opinion or another competitive estimate from a real shop near you -- not just an online estimate. Good luck. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops/toyota-repair-and-service-in-dublin-california
