Battery grounded out on fenderwell, car won't come out of park, nor start.

It started by loose battery hold-down clamp, while making a turn, battery slid into fenderwell. Vehicle killed & started to smoke lightly under hood. When I put it back in place, and tried to start it, Would just continually turn over without any firing action happening. When I went to put it in NEUTRAL to push it to side of road, wouldn't come out of PARK.
Have no idea what to do to provide a solution to The problem.
Can anyone offer an resolution??
