Is it true that a fuel pressure sensor starts reading when the tank hits 3/4full

What is your question?

I was told this by two different car guys. I erased a evap code and kept my gas tank above 90% the whole time. The code still kicked on. Were they wrong or is this an indication that the fuel pressure sensor is faulty?

P0440. I was trying to figure out the problem. Got a new cap. Tested the solenoid and it was still good. I was told that it could be the fuel pressure sensor.

fuel pressure works all the time, tank pressure sensor, for evap, may only work below 3/4 so raw fuel isn't drawn into the engine by purge solenoid. you need to smoke check your evap sys, if no leaks are found, it could need a "tank" pressure sensor. fuel pressure has zero to do with p0440 or evap sys.
