The ignition switch started smoking when shut off and turned back on their was nothing. I changed the switch and turned the key and still nothing from the motor. But the lights turn on what can I do next?
What is your question?
Ignition switch started smoking so I shut it off immediately. I tried turning the key and nothing happened, no sound. I changed the ignition switch and when I tried to turn the key on still nothing. The lights work and the door ajar sound still works. But nothing else, what should I do next?
When you say you replaced the ignition switch, do you mean the key cylinder? Or the actual electrical switch?
It seems to me testing of the circuit from the steering column to the rest of the circuitry that starts the vehicle would be needed.
Sounds like maybe something was smoking that has not yet been repaired.
