this problem has been going on si nce new it is very scary crossing oncoming traffic and find you lost power and then it resumes a dealer told me that was a common problem with constant velocity transmissions

Well, hesitation is one thing; not have an expected "power band" is another. Have your fuel delivery, ignition spark, air intake system checked to be sure those areas are working properly?
