Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Outback. The issues you're describing suggest multiple electrical and cooling system problems, which might be tied to a failing Body Control Module (BCM) or compromised ground connections. The BCM manages various functions like keyless entry, accessory power, and some climate control elements, so its failure could explain the unrelated symptoms. The overheating issue might still point to air trapped in the cooling system or a failing water pump. The missing coolant and symptoms of overheating without visible leaks could indicate a slight head gasket leak, as Subaru engines are known for this. The sound under the dash might be air bubbles passing through the heater core. You'll want a detailed diagnostic to address both electrical and cooling issues. A professional shop can check for fault codes, electrical grounding problems, and pressure test the cooling system to rule out gasket or heater core problems. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
