Hey, my name is Dusty, and I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team. What a pain in the neck. The good news is that it should be a simple fix. Either the key is worn, bent, or damaged so that the tumblers in the ignition cylinder won't disengage. Or the tumblers in the ignition cylinder are worn, bent, or damaged, inhibiting engagement. In the meantime you can try another key if you have one, or have another key cut to see where the failure is. If you don't have a spare key a locksmith that works on cars may be able to assist, if not give your preferred Subaru dealer a call. They should be able to locate the original key map and cut a fresh key for you. I'm here to help! If you have any more questions or need assistance finding a RepairPal Certified shop nearby, feel free to give us a call. We're excited to assist you! 877-913-1554
