My steering stopped-at first it stopped turning left and then it stopped turning
What is your question?
I have regular tune ups, oil changes, etc. It had made some new sounds recently when parallel parking, but then with it's mileage of 240,000 it makes quite a few sounds. The car has been babied since new and the bar between the two front wheels was replaced a few years back. What could this be? Thanks, Barb

It is very kind of you to try and help me. I heard a rolling sound a few weeks back. Is it possible that a cap fell off the fluid reservoir? I looked up steering rack, but so far, found no pictures. I will add fluid to see if I can drive to have it fixed or do you think that I should have it towed to protect pumps and whatever other parts are involved in steering?
Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Your best bet would be to have it towed to a reliable Subaru mechanic, simply because a failed steering can be a cause of an accident if you try to drive it and it doesn't turn.
Good luck
