Does the entire exhaust need replaced for a hole or crack?

Something was rattling under my car and now it sounds like there is a hole in the pipe cause the sound is deeper when I press on the gas. No smell and no warning check engine light. No change in car performance, just noise.

What makes this problem better or worse?

The noise gets worse when I accelerate.
