I stop at a light or sign and it Boggs but when I push it to 3500 rpms it back fires and makes the pedal lag

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. What you are describing sounds like an air intake or an exhaust flow issue. Perhaps a vacuum leak.
