My legacy has a whistling sound while accelerating,what might be the problem?

Hi , I would like to offer up a possible answer to the whisling noise . I am not a repair facility however. I own a 2005 legacy gt with turbo. On my vehicle, i get the whistle also. On my car, its the turbo causing the noise. This is a normal sound for these cars to my knowledge . Excessive whisltle noise may be calmed down a bit by assuring All intake connections are tight along wit intake filter and housing snug. Also maybe look at all vacuum lines. To see if all are good. A decent shop should perform a "smoke" test to check for any intake and or vacuum leaks. Durin past years i have experienced. Many strang issues- noises etc....HOWEVER IF YOURS IS NOT TURBO , THEN ALL OF MY JIBBER JABBER SHOULD BE VOID. good luck. Joe S.
