Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. This warning message comes on when then automatic transmission oil temperature is measured as being too high. This can be due to several possible causes, but it sounds to me like there could be an internal transmission concern causing the transmission oil temperature to rise. Hands on testing of the vehicle is needed, especially during the time the problem is actively occurring.
