Car makes a clicking noise in front end when making slow turns. I was told it might be the axle boot but not sure why a torn boot would cause a clicking noise. Car has 150000 miles on it

It is not the torn boot that makes the noise but the worn out slides or bearings and housing in the CV joint. When the boot torn the joint lost most or all of the lubrication due to the centrifugal force created by the spinning axle, also dust and dirt enters into the joint and wear it down even faster. Zee
